A significant investment in closed-circuit television cameras has not had the desired impact on catching criminals, according to British police officials.

CyberSource's 2008 "Online Fraud Report" estimates that an average of 1.4 percent of North American online merchants' sales were lost to stolen or fraudulent credit cards last year, versus 3.6 percent in 2000.

The Report, which was prepared by PWC by interviewing senior representatives from more than 5,400 companies in 40 countries, is including for the first time 105 leading companies within Turkey.
