Istanbul police detained Wednesday six members of the terrorist organization PKK  - including a seeing-impaired woman - and impounded more than 6.5 kilograms of plastic explosives and a bomb vest with a detonator on it, security officials said.

One person is taken under custody in relation with the murder of three people in a publishing house in eastern city of Malatya, on Wednesday.

Four people suspected of carrying out and assisting a shooting at Turkey's staunchly secularist Higher Education Board (YÖK) on Wednesday have been detained, Turkish Interior Minister Abdulkadir Aksu said yesterday.

As security measures of facilities are carried out partly by human involvement and partly by technological means, investments are made bidirectional.
